Bobby Charlton Soccer School

Does your school have a team? Why not enjoy an exciting trip for the enthusiastic young footballer! We offer school teams the opportunity to attend a premier league match, have a coaching session with the staff of the Bobby Charlton Soccer School and play a friendly match against local opposition and have some fun element also!!

The school employs well-qualified, professional coaches and English Language teachers who are committed to the soccer and sports academy and are truely exceptional mentors and role models. They use their knowledge and expertise to help young players to realise their capabilities and raise their self-esteem. Their aim is to ensure that players enjoy a once in a lifetime experience - even though the vast majority return again and again!

It is widely known that David Beckham began his career with them when he was a boy attending the soccer school. On all their courses, they aim to ensure that as far as possible, each individual's needs is met. They provide a safe, secure and disciplined environment, where each child matters.

The attractive Britannia Hotel in Wigan is a modern hotel surrounded by lush greenery, located just off the M6 between Liverpool and Manchester. The hotel in Wigan is within easy reach of a wide area thanks to its excellent location and the local motorway network. A fine motorway system brings the entire northwest within easy reach as well as being a central location between London and Scotland.

From the bright, airy hotel lobby to the modern bedrooms including purpose built family rooms, you will be impressed. Almonds brasserie provides a wide range of dishes. Our fully equipped hotel health club offers an air conditioned gym, indoor pool, spa bath and sauna. The 14 dedicated meeting rooms, ample parking, general ambience and excellent motorway connections make this hotel the perfect location for meetings and conferences.

Itinerary

Day one:

05.15hrs: depart the college.
07.10hrs: arrive at the North Wall.
08.05hrs: depart the North Wall on Irish Ferries Ulysses.
11.25hrs: arrive Holyhead. Transfer to the campus in Didsbury.
13.45hrs: arrive at the Bobby Charlton Soccer School in Parrswood Campus, Didsbury. Two ninety minute coaching sessions.
17.30hrs: depart Didsbury.
18.15hrs: arrive at the Britannia Hotel, Wigan (or similar) - check-in and dinner.

Day two:

08.30hrs: depart the hotel.
09.20hrs: arrive Halewood - friendly matches in Halewood.
12.00hrs: depart Halewood.
[The group will attend a premier league fixture at either of the following clubs: Bolton Wanderers - Blackburn Rovers - Manchester City / Aston Villa - Wolverhampton Wanderers - Wigan Athletic.]
18.00hrs: arrive bowling alley adjacent to hotel - one game of ten pin bowling. [Select from additional activity karting, ice-skating, amusement centre, swimming].
20.00hrs: return to the hotel.

Day three:

08.30hrs: depart the hotel.
09.15hrs: arrive at Old Trafford - stadium tour of Old Trafford.
10.45hrs: depart Old Trafford.
13.10hrs: arrive at Holyhead.
14.10hrs: depart Holyhead on Irish Ferries Ulysses.
17.30hrs: arrive at North Wall.
20.00hrs: arrive back at the college.

Groups should make financial provision in the eventuality of their return ferry being delayed. **

If the fixture changes to a Friday or Sunday the itinerary will be changed to reflect the new kick-off times. If however if the game changes to mid-week a different Premiership fixture will be offered on the original weekend selected.
